In an amendment to Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s pre-season friendly fixtures the team will now face Lancashire instead of Northamptonshire in a three day match that will be played at Trent Bridge starting on Tuesday 31st March.
The club were originally scheduled to play Northants a day later but will now face the Red Roses county with entrance free of charge on each of the three days (11am start).
Yesterday the club signed former Netherlands Coach Anton Roux to help strengthen the Academy sides pathway into the team with the 38 year old joining Bowling Coach Andy Pick in the Coaching set up as he takes charge of batting and fielding across all ages at the younger levels.
On his appointment Director of Cricket Mick Newell stated “Developing homegrown players is one of our main aims. It’s something we’re focusing on. Anton has the skills and experience to assist us with that.”
“With a number of ex-professionals and the introduction of full-time specialist coaches in Anton and Andy Pick into that pathway system we believe those players will now be receiving the best possible support and tuition.”
Roux who managed the Dutch National side winning 36 of his 52 games in charge stated “The first time I visited Trent Bridge I was in awe of the ground and club. To fast forward a few years and come back as a Pathway Coach seriously excites me.”
