Nottingham Rugby have captured the signature of Toby Williams for the season ahead after the loosehead prop signed for the Green and Whites from National League 1 side Rotherham Titans.
German born Williams will offer valuable experience to the Nottingham forward line having played over 100 games for Rotherham. He’s also played for Doncaster Knights and Otley amongst others in a career that has involved both codes of rugby.
Joining Williams at Nottingham is fellow prop Owen Hills who has previously spent loan spells at Lady Bay and is a graduate of Leicester Tigers Academy.
In a triple prop boost the club have also renewed their relationship with Aniseko Sio who once again commits to Nottingham for another season ahead. Samoan International Sio has played 57 times since joining in 2017 after moving to the Bay from Leicester Tigers.
Nottingham Head Coach Neil Fowkes delighted with his business stated “This triple signing really strengthens our front-row ahead of next season. First of all, we’re delighted to be able to secure Aniseko Sio for a season, as well as the signings of Toby Williams and Owen Hills – all of which have great rugby experience.”
On Monday the club also extended the contract of Josh Poullet who’ll be working with the club’s community projects as well as Nottingham Corsairs and coaching their senior team as well as taking their mini/junior section to support development through the ages.
The 26-year-old number eight played 16 times in all competitions last season for Nottingham with Head Coach Fowkes stating “It’s great to have Josh on-board for next season. He’s been in and around the club since a young age and the work he does on and off the field is fantastic. He’s played a vital part in Nottingham’s community projects over the past few years and he will continue to do so going forward.”
