Mansfield Town have signed former Forest & Notts County winger Stephen McLaughlin from Southend United on a short term deal.
The Irishman now 30 has played over 150 games for the Shrimpers since joining them in 2015 and is a player Manager Graham Coughlan knows well.
The fellow countryman of the Donegal born winger said “Stephen gives us competition down the left and can play in several positions.”
“He arrives at One Call Stadium with bags of experience and a promotion from League Two in 2015.”
“He has a terrific work rate and attitude, so will fit into our dressing room really well.”
Mansfield face Tranmere Rovers tomorrow in the first league game of the new campaign with Joe Riley the clubs only absentee.
Manager Coughlan stated ahead of the game “I’m really excited. The two games (so far) were against tough opponents, but I’m really happy with my squad, individually and collectively.”
“Now it’s about coming together, working together and putting the final touches to it. I’m really enthused, excited and can’t wait to get going. All of the pre-season work is done now and I can’t wait for three o’clock on Saturday.”
