Outlaws On Fire

Derbyshire Falcons 185/6-198/6 Notts Outlaws (T20 Blast North Group) 13.09.20

It was another win for Nottinghamshire this weekend as the Vitality Blast North Group leaders made it five wins from seven (including two no results) as Dan Christians T20 specialists now head their league by four points and look set to reach the Quarter Finals with just three matches remaining.

Batting first Notts hit 198/6 after the early loss (again) of Chris Nash for just three. Alex Hales and Joe Clarke picked up the pieces as Hales hit 49 from 32 balls with Clarke even more impressive notching 57 in just 35 balls.

Moores and Christian hit 31 and 27 respectively with Mullaney 12 not out and Patel 4 not out following a late wicket for Duckett who hit just nine.

In reply Derbyshire lost their two openers for ducks with Reece bowled first ball by Wasim and Godleman soon after lbw by Carter.

Madsen hit 68 as du Plooy made 17 before Critchley came in and gave the home side (playing at Trent Bridge for safety reasons) some hope with a solid 44 but as Notts picked up the wickets of first Madsen, bowled by Ball with the score on 128, then Critchley (lbw by Ball for 44) at 162 the game then ran away from the Falcons who eventually lost by 13 runs.

A cracking weekend for the Outlaws who took maximum points with the return match against Derbyshire on Thursday before Leicestershire at Grace Road on Friday and the visit of Durham on Sunday.
