Nottingham Wildcats are back in court action this weekend after a fortnight layoff following defeat against London Lions at the end of January before the recent international break.
The team were due to stand in for Sevenoaks Suns in the final of the WBBL Cup. After Sevenoaks who beat Nottingham in the semi-final, postponed all their fixtures until February, due to safety measures, the original final was to be played on January 24th and the Wildcats were asked to take part against Leicester Riders but following postponement ahead of that match due to several Riders players contracting coronavirus, the final has now been rescheduled to this weekend where Sevenoaks can indeed, now take their place.
So with that opportunity sadly but perhaps correctly missed, Nottingham’s attention draws instead to Manchester on Saturday and a trip across the Pennines to face the Met Mystics in WBBL action as the Wildcats, currently fourth in the table (2,3) face seventh placed opposition who have so far played just two matches (1,1) this campaign.
Following Saturday’s encounter, Nottingham will be back on more familiar territory on Sunday as they host eighth placed Caledonia Pride (1/2) at the Wildcats Arena in a 3pm tip off that will be streamed live via YouTube.
We’ll also aim to bring you that match live via Nottingham Sport so remember to log on for your weekend’s basketball fix.
