Notts County have completed the loan deal for Crewe Alexandra midfielder Regan Griffiths who joins the Magpies until the end of the season.
Following an injury to club captain Michael Doyle suffered late on in the FA Trophy loss against Hornchurch on Saturday, new Head Coach Ian Burchnall highlighted the area of Notts County’s midfield as ‘a little light’ and one place that hew wanted to strengthen in immediately, and he’s been quick to get to work in identifying a solution that could fill the void temporarily at least.
Liverpool born Griffiths is just 20 years old and came through the famous Academy at Crewe and has a couple of football league appearances to his name already.
Having previously been loaned out to the likes of Kidsgrove Athletic and Witton Albion, Griffiths who knows what it is like to play Non-League football will get his chance at Meadow Lane as Notts take on Wrexham this Good Friday.
Of the talented youngster, his new Head Coach Burchnall stated “He’s technical, he’s got quick feet and he can see a creative pass. We think he’ll balance us out and give us something extra in there. He’s a really interesting player.
“I’ve spoken to the manager at Crewe and he was extremely positive about him. He feels he’s more than capable of playing even at League One level.”
