Nottinghamshire’s Royal London One Day Cup match at Welbeck against Somerset today has been abandoned after 21 overs of the home sides innings following a downpour across the majority of the county ensured the covers would stay on for most of this miserable wet day.
The match was called off at 3:45pm with Notts 92/2 and Somerset yet to bat with 29 overs remaining of the Outlaws innings.
At the crease was Ben Slater (42 not out) and Matthew Montgomery (31 not out) following the early dismissals of Sol Budinger for 2 and Peter Trego who scored 13. Both sides will take a point each following the abandonment with Notts currently fifth in Group B of the competition having won one, lost one and now endured a no result.
Nottinghamshire will try again on Sunday as they face Leicestershire at the same venue, here’s hoping the sun will shine and dry out the Friday rain as the Outlaws push towards a place in the knockout stages of the competition.
