Notts County 4-0 Tamworth (FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Replay) 19.10.21
Notts County will travel to Rochdale in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup after a thumping replay win against Tamworth.
Following a scoreless draw at the weekend the two sides had to do it all over again under the lights at the lane and it was Notts on the front foot from the off with Vincent forcing a great save from Singh after seven minutes, a well struck drive tipped over the bar.
Kairo Mitchell was next to have a go, Singh saving at the near post on 12 minutes and as the Lambs goalkeeper was forced into another cracking save on 16 again from Vincent, it looked only a matter of time before Notts would break the deadlock.
That goal soon came, and when it did on 22, what a strike by Kairo Mitchell who spun and shot low into the corner from 25 yards.
Mitchell was starting to cause the away side havoc, and a couple of minutes into the second half he teed up Rodrigues who shot wide from inside the box, but soon after, the former Leicester City striker had his second of the evening, a great cross by Dion Kelly-Evans on 49, finding the Grenada international who headed home to make it 2-0.
That goal knocked the stuffing out of Tamworth, Kelly-Evans providing Kyle Wootton with the ball to tuck home a first-time finish and make it three with just 53 minutes on the clock.
Five minutes later, three became four and a deserving goal too for Frank Vincent who had earlier twice been denied by the goalkeeper, this time his shot through a crowd beating Singh at the near post.
On 70 minutes, Mitchell might have had a hat-trick but dragged his shot wide of the posts, as Notts made substitutions the newly introduced Nemane then scooped over when he should have done better, but Notts by then, convincing, had the game wrapped up in what was a professional performance in seeing off Southern League opposition.
