Every Time We Fly

You might remember back at the start of the year when the talented Jack Walker provided us with an insight into a documentary that was supposed to be screened at the end of the 2019/20 season covering the Notts County Womens Football team? It was going to be a fly-on-the-wall type video that aimed to touch upon the running of the football club, the players well-being and the discrimination still sadly involved in the women’s game as well as highlighting other issues like mental health. Well that show unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and the cut short campaign was scrapped, but instead Jack has made use of this minor set back to enthrall us with a new video on the year of Notts County FC’s men’s team instead.

Highlighting relegation from the Football League and the take over by the Magpies Danish owners to the clubs ambitious attempt to return to where they belong, Jack asks a number of supporters, including Tom & George from Notts County Talk, and officials including Adam Dunleavy, the Manager of Notts County’s Women’s team for their input and insight on the season with reflection on the win against Barnet right up until the day of the Playoff final defeat against Harrogate Town.

With music supported by local bands the video gives a real feeling of what supporters go through as Notts County fans and is available below to watch in full just short of 18 minutes long.

You can also watch in full at the welcometojacks.co.uk website.

With more to come from Jack Walker who still hopes to redo his documentary on Notts County Women this excellent piece of work will certainly not be the last on life at Meadow Lane from the Shropshire born film-maker.
