Nottingham Make Three Changes For Coventry

It hasn’t been the best of starts to the delayed RFU Championship season for Nottingham Rugby with two heavy defeats leaving the Green and Whites stuck at the bottom of the table after two games, but a much-changed team is settling into life by Lady Bay and it is hoped that Neil Fowkes side can register their first points of the season against Coventry this weekend.

Against Ampthill last weekend, Nottingham were much improved from their opening day of the season defeat by Ealing, in a match where several debutants made their first appearances in the famous hooped jersey, they were thumped 52-3 against the Trailfinders, but last time whilst they still lost the game 31-15, they scored the first try of the match, an impressive cameo by young Wasps winger Luke Mehson, and were well in the game past half time, where eventually the home scored four tries to run away with the result.

This week Nottingham have been preparing for another tough test, against Midland rivals Coventry, who themselves have lost twice and won once this season, sitting in eighth place, three positions and five points above the leagues lowest ranked side.

The match itself will be able to stream via the Nottingham Rugby website at a cost of £10 with kick off 5:30pm on Saturday afternoon.

With the side already announced, Neil Fowkes has made three changes to the team that faced Ampthill with Harry Graham, Michael Stronge and Willie Ryan replacing Tom Curtis, Alex Dolly and Josh Poullet.

Starting Team: Jack Stapley, Harry Graham, Charlie Thacker, Will Simmonds, Luke Mehson, Ed Coulson,  Michael Stronge, Aniseko Sio, Luke Cole, Karl Garside, Jac Price, Luke Frost, Willie Ryan, Carl Kirwan,  Jordan Coghlan.

Replacements: Shaun Evans, Ben Betts, Harri O’Connor, Rouban Birch, George Cox, Alex Dolly, Sam Spink, Jake Farnworth.
