Forest Women Return With Wolves Cup Clash
Andy Cook’s Nottingham Forest Women will see their Vitality Women’s FA Cup clash away to Wolverhampton Wanderers Women, at the CKW Stadium, Cockroft, this Sunday 4 April, beamed out live.
Having opposed Wolves twice in the cup during the past seven campaigns, winning 3-0 at home in 2014, then 4-0, also at home in 2017, both in the Second Round, Forest will be looking to make it a hat-trick of FA Cup victories over their Black Country counterparts.
Last season the Garibaldi fell at the Third Round stage having lost 2-1 away to Burnley, but Andy Cook knows his side, this time around, are looking to put some gloss onto a season, this time around, that has been hampered by an ongoing global pandemic.
The clash will see both sides take to the field for the first time since December last year, Forest’s coming in the FA Women’s National League, a 2-1 defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion, whilst Wolves Women saw off Stourbridge LFC 3-0 in the FA Cup, setting up the clash with Andy Cook’s side.
Now, as the teams prepare to return, Forest captain Lyndsey Harkin, who racked up an impressive 200 outings for the Garibaldi, leads her side into battle against former Reds Kelly Darby, Amy Dicken, and Summer Holmes, they will be play in front of the cameras, giving fans a chance to see some action for the first time this year.
Live coverage of the encounter will be commentated on by Mikey Burrows, who will be joined by a legendary Wolves Women defender Claire Hakeman in the commentary booth and, with the game due to be played behind closed doors, the only way to watch both Forest, and Wolves in action, as they bid to reach the third round, will be via Wolves TV.
The live stream is available on www.wolves.co.uk and the Wolves YouTube channel.
Kicking off at 14:00 (live coverage begins at 13:45), on Sunday 4 April, The winner of Wolves Women vs. Nottingham Forest Women will travel to either Watford, or the MK Dons, the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Third Round on 11 April.
