Trent Rockets have announced their ‘retained’ list on deadline day, long ahead of the third season of Cricket’s Hundred ball tournament which starts this summer.
The male side are last years champions after a brilliant campaign and will be again keeping the likes of Dawid Malan, Alex Hales, Rashid Khan, Lewis Gregory, Luke Wood, Colin Munro, Sam Cook, Samit Patel, Daniel Sams and Matt Carter as well as the returning Central Contractor Joe Root who’ll hopefully also play a part in defending the trophy they won last August at Lords.
The Rockets beat Manchester Originals with two wickets and two balls to spare in a thrilling final and will be no doubt one of the favourites to repeat their success during the summer of 2023 with the season getting away on August 1st as the Rockets take on Southern Brave at Trent Bridge.
The women’s team will be hoping for improved fortunes on last summers’ efforts, as they announce a newly wedded couple at the head of their batting department. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Katherine Sciver-Brunt might confuse some scorecards ahead, they have been joined by Bryony Smith and Alana King with Natalie Sciver-Brunt stating It’s great to be retained”.
Continuing “We came pretty close last time round and we want to build on that this year. The women’s competition having The Draft this year is really exciting, and I think we’ve got a good core of players to build on.
“It’s a really good competition to play in, with brilliant atmospheres and great cricket, and I’m looking forward to being back at Trent Bridge.”
