Lancashire\u2019s Liam Livingstone hit England\u2019s fastest ever T20 hundred but it wasn\u2019t enough to stop Pakistan winning the first of a three match series at a packed Trent Bridge last night.<\/p>\n
A first international cricket match in two years and a full house at Nottinghamshire\u2019s home of cricket whet the appetite for those that attended under the sunny skies of the city as Pakistan raced to a seemingly unassailable 232 for 6 from their 20 overs.<\/p>\n
Babar Azam (63) and Mohammad Rizwan (85) with a devastating opening partnership of 150 with just 14.4 overs played.<\/p>\n
In reply, England had it all to do and lost Dawid Malan early doors before Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy gave chase. More early wickets though dented England\u2019s progression further before Livingstone came in at 48\/3 and with a fabulous 43 ball 103 which gave the side slim hope of closing down the Pakistan total.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t to be though, England ending 31 runs short all out for 201 with a comprehensive first match win for the touring side but a packed Trent Bridge enjoying over 400 runs on a Friday night was a pleasure in itself to see.<\/p>\n
Next up the two sides meet on Sunday at Headingley before closing the series at Old Trafford on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
In other cricket news last night, Notts Outlaws who have already qualified for the Vitality Blast Quarter Finals, were beaten at Leicestershire Foxes in their penultimate North Group game.<\/p>\n
Notts were all out for 173 after Joe Clarke hit 57 and Ben Duckett scored 45 amongst others, in reply Leicestershire reached target with just three balls and two wickets to spare.<\/p>\n
The Outlaws will conclude their group matters at home to Durham tomorrow.<\/p>\n
