For the third successive game Paviors were well beaten in their Midlands Premier Division match at Bournville losing 64-29 as the league leaders continued their perfect start to the season to make it ten wins from ten.<\/p>\n
There were plenty of positives for eighth placed Pavs though who took a bonus point away from the game after scoring five tries and having lost gallantly to second position Sheffield the week previous they now host Bridgnorth on Saturday who are also going strong in third in what has been a tough month of opponents for the Nottinghamshire based side.<\/p>\n
Better news at the weekend in Midlands One East however as West Bridgford beat Towcestrians at Stamford Road in a tight match that ended 24-17 with a couple of tries for Knott and one each for Wilson and Horner but the biggest positive was not just the win taking Bridgford to sixth in the table but instead was the efforts to ensure that the match got played after pumping a serious amount of water from the Memorial Ground playing surface prior to the game itself.<\/p>\n
West Bridgford face a trip next to Old Northamptonians who are currently five points above the Nottingham based team in fifth place in the table.<\/p>\n
In Midlands 2 East (North) Nottingham Casuals were beaten by league leaders Dronfield 49-7 on Saturday and this week face Matlock at home. Newark who were without a game due to the weather last weekend will host Market Rasen & Louth this weekend should their soddened Kelham Road venue by the River Trent pass the proposed inspection.<\/p>\n
Bottom of the table Ashfield also without a fixture last weekend due to postponements will host Long Eaton on Saturday and will be looking to win their first league match of the season having lost five from five.<\/p>\n
Remarkably in Midlands East (North) 3 all the local sides games went ahead last weekend with fourth placed Mellish beating Sileby Town 33-19 in Leicestershire. Southwell in sixth place beat Buxton 20-10 whilst Mansfield lost at Ashby by 54-14 and bottom of the table Moderns lost at Rolls Royce 36-23.<\/p>\n
This weekend Mellish host Ashby whilst Moderns entertain Sileby, Mansfield welcome Bakewell Mannerians in a 2:15pm kick off and Southwell visit Rolls Royce for a 3pm start.<\/p>\n
At Step Nine Midlands East (North) 4 second placed East Retford continued their good start to the season with a 19-14 local derby win over Gainsborough whilst Ollerton beat Amber Valley 19-10 although it wasn\u2019t a great weekend for fourth placed Meden Vale who were beaten 3-20 by Cleethorpes and Nottinghamians who were trounced 48-3 at Boston.<\/p>\n
Next up for Nottinghamians is Chesterfield Panthers at the weekend. Meden Vale host Retford in another derby game whilst Ollerton host Boston and Worksop who didn\u2019t play last weekend visit Gainsborough.<\/p>\n
