Midfielder Ryan Yates is the latest player to secure a longer term contract extension at Nottingham Forest as he commits to the club for the foreseeable after agreeing terms to stay at the City Ground.<\/p>\n
Yates who\u2019s original deal ended in 2021 is currently sitting a three game ban after being sent off against Bristol City but has been rewarded for otherwise consistent performances since returning to action from injury recently and has been one of Forest\u2019s most impressive young players since breaking in to the team last season.<\/p>\n
The combative midfielder who had spells on loan at Notts County and Scunthorpe United has only played 20 first team league games for Forest but is regarded as a player with a very big future and one certainly that fits the bill of the current regime.<\/p>\n
The 22 year old Lincoln born start has been at the club through the Academies since the age of 8 and \u00a0stated \u201cIt means so much to me, having been a the club for so long. I feel like I am progressing really well and there is no place I\u2019d rather play my football.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been a long journey with lots of ups and downs. I came in at eight-years-old and came through the ranks with the dream to play at The City Ground one day. I have been lucky enough to play a few times and I just want to keep progressing and learning on and off the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI was watching as a fan for about 10 years before I got my chance to play, being a passionate supporter of the club for so long and you want to reflect what you\u2019d like to see on the pitch from a fans\u2019 point of view.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to mainly thank Gary Brazil the academy manager for most of the time I have been here, and there is so many staff who have coached me and helped me on the pitch as well as off it. I am forever grateful and they know who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yates will miss out Friday\u2019s trip to Millwall with his final match on his suspension but should be fit to return to action next Tuesday for the visit of Middlesbrough.<\/p>\n
