If you love sport and are feeling festive this December why not put the two together and head down to Lenton Lane Sports Ground where Nottingham Outlaws Rugby League play their home games to enjoy the clubs annual Christmas Fayre.<\/p>\n
Doors open at 11am with a Christmas Shoppe selling a wide range of exciting Christmas gifts and goodies with also club merchandise on sale from penants, toys and Outlaws Xmas cards.<\/p>\n
Plenty of food and drink too with cake, mince pies, mulled wine and nibbles available the bar will also be open all day.<\/p>\n
The clubs first team finished bottom of the table in the Yorkshire League Premier Division in 2019 winning only three of their fifteen games but the club have appointed full back Adam Cunliffe as role of player coach for next year after existing coach George Strachan steps down to focus on playing.<\/p>\n
Cunliffe is the clubs leading try scorer of the past four seasons and a previous Outlaws player of the year has a wealth of coaching experience having coached both University sides as well as the Outlaws Women team where he was assistant to Strachan this year.<\/p>\n
Outlaws Chairman Richard Johnson who paid tribute to hall of famer Strachan for his service to the club stated \u201cGeorge has done a fantastic job for the club under very difficult circumstances at times, and this was acknowledged by the Yorkshire League when he was awarded Coach of the Year in 2018.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegardless of results, the team has been playing with a terrific spirit, and that is due in no small part to George\u2019s ethos and example. I was very pleased to hear that he is still intending to pull the boots on for another season, as his form at the back end of this year was outstanding, and he still has plenty to offer the team on the field.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Cuncliffe taking up the reigns Johnson was equally as respectful stating \u201cI\u2019m really excited at the prospect of Adam taking the coaching role. He\u2019s been a mainstay of the team for several seasons now, and it was a natural progression for him having coached our junior and women\u2019s teams, and also with him currently coaching at both universities.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has terrific attention to detail, and I\u2019m sure with his strong work ethic and attitude he\u2019ll be a tremendous success in the Head Coaching role.\u201d<\/p>\n
