Nottingham based boxer Ekow \u2018The Engine\u2019 Essuman was supposed to be fighting in a fortnights time at York Hall for the defence of his IBF European, Commonwealth & BBBofC British Welterweight titles against Darren Tetley but a space has just come up, to bring the bout forward a week and now \u2018the Engine\u2019 will be fighting on the undercard of Tyson Fury v Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Unbeaten Essuman with 16 wins from 16 fights takes on Bradford born southpaw Tetley 21-2 on what is arguably the biggest night in British Boxing history, Tyson Fury 31-0-1 fighting fellow-countryman Whyte 28-2 for the WBC heavyweight title in front of what will be a record boxing crowd in the UK and Europe of over 94,000.<\/p>\n
Essuman and Tetley get the chance because the proposed undercard fight between Anthony Cacace and Jonathan Romero is off because of the latter\u2019s failure to receive a visa in time.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the originally scheduled match-up against Tetley, Essuman, who beat the previously unbeaten Danny Ball last time out live on BT following a brutal sixth round finish, stated \u201c it’ll soon be time to light up the ring with 66.7kg of absolute dynamite\u201d continuing through his Instagram account \u201cjust winning the war in the gym before going to battle\u201d.<\/p>\n
And whilst this significant move forward by a week will eat into both fighters training somewhat, one cannot blame them for taking advantage to have their dance at the nations biggest and best known stadium, on such a prestigious occasion such as Fury v Whyte.<\/p>\n
The bout will be one of three title fights on the night including the \u2018main event\u2019 whilst Isaac Lowe takes on Nick Ball for the WBC silver featherweight title and celebrity dating show lovers will note that Tommy Fury is also on the undercard.<\/p>\n
