Three first team players have been released from Mansfield Town as of their contract end 31st\u00a0May (yesterday) with Josh Scott, Marek Stech and Farrend Rawson all free to find new clubs over the summer.<\/p>\n
Another player currently contracted, striker Danny Johnson, who was signed from Leyton Orient last summer, is available for transfer, whilst further young professionals Ryan Burke, Nathan Caine, Jaden Charles, Ethan Hill, Tyrese Sinclair and Keaton Ward have all been let go.<\/p>\n
Of those staying at the League Two club next season, Lucas Akins, Kellan Gordon, Oliver Hawkins, Elliott Hewitt, George Lapslie, Owen Mason, Rhys Oates, John-Joe O\u2019Toole, George Cooper, James Gale and for six months at least, Jimmy Knowles are all contracted at the One Call Stadium whilst discussions are in place to extend the contracts of Jordan Bowery, James Perch and Stephen Quinn.<\/p>\n
Options triggered for the following players to stay have also been made on Ollie Clarke, Jason Law, George Maris, Kieran Wallace and Stephen McLaughlin whilst the expired loans see Nathan Bishop, Matty Longstaff, Jamie Murphy and Ryan Stirk all return to their parent clubs.<\/p>\n
Manager Nigel Clough, will look to rebuild after a turbulent season ended in Wembley defeat on Saturday, with promotion still the main aim of the football club who are ambitious to grow under his tenure.<\/p>\n
Clough said \u201cWhen everybody slightly gets over it we\u2019ll think, \u2018I tell you what; it\u2019s been a hell of a season.\u2019 The highs and the lows have been out of proportion I think, even by footballing standards.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe highs of what we\u2019ve done since October, losing only six league games and getting to Wembley, but it\u2019s not just that, it\u2019s the manner in which we did it as well. Having 13 or 14 wins at home out of 16 is absolutely remarkable.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve won as many games as most teams (since the end of October). I think there\u2019s only five teams in the country that have won more than us. We finished seven points off the top of the league. Seven points \u2013 that\u2019s all \u2013 from winning the league and that\u2019s with a run where we didn\u2019t win for 14 games.<\/p>\n
