Nottingham Panthers have signed Great Britain International forward Luke Ferrara as the clubs new look management team look to put their own stamp on the forthcoming campaigns plans with some astute big name captures over this summer.<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old Peterborough born star has spent the last five seasons at Coventry Blaze where he has recorded a phenomenal 195 points in 255 games in between brief spells at Bordeaux in France and Krakow in Poland.<\/p>\n
Previously of the Sheffield Steelers, his recent appearances in the World Championships saw him play three matches as GB fell bottom of the sixteen team standings as tournament hosts Finland beat Canada to win gold. In the Elite League last season, Ferrara netted 25 goals with 24 assists in 52 matches.<\/p>\n
Ferrara is already a two-time Elite League winner and Playoff champion who brings a wealth of experience to the Panthers roster having top scored in the Elite League during the 2019\/20 season, he\u2019ll add much needed fire power and creativity to the Nottingham frontline as they look to improve on a disappointing season last under their new management team of Gary Graham and Omar Pacha.<\/p>\n
In recent weeks the club have been busy capturing the signatures of some of their top players which include the renewal of Welshman Matthew Myers for an eleventh season and further contracts awarded to young forwards Jordan Kelsall and Jack Hopkins with eighteen year old Archie Hazeldine signed on a two-way contract for the forthcoming year, one certainly to watch for the future.<\/p>\n
The Panthers have disappointingly lost Ollie Betteridge who moves to Ferencvarosi in Hungary after a fabulous career at Nottingham Arena. The homegrown international forward will be hugely missed, with no doubt the door always open for a return to one of the clubs own, who we hope will shine during his exciting journey in Eastern Europe. Josh Tetlow has also left Nottingham to join RoKi in Finland. The London born defenceman has been at the Motorpoint Arena since 2017.<\/p>\n
