Mansfield Town have signed Hiram Boateng on a three-year deal after the midfielder left Milton Keynes Dons after three years at Stadium MK.<\/p>\n
A product of the Crystal Palace youth system, Boateng now 26-years-old has played the majority of his football in League One and League Two with 77 games for Exeter City and 65 for MK whilst making near 200 league appearances in all.<\/p>\n
The Wandsworth born star who has also had loan spells at Crawley Town, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers, Northampton Town and most recently, Cambridge United, stated upon joining the Stags \u201cThe manager has really sold it to me and showed me the plans for where the club is trying to be.”<\/p>\n
Boateng continued \u201cI think I\u2019m the kind of player that can try and help get the club to where I feel like it belongs.I would say I\u2019m a box-to-box midfield player, someone that\u2019s going to give 100% all the time and give a lot of energy. I\u2019m someone who knows the league well and knows what it takes to get out of this division which can be difficult. I want to be a part of a team that\u2019s going to be successful and part of a team that\u2019s winning.\u201d<\/p>\n
Boateng joins an Academy trio of Curtis Davies, Cody Collins and Jack Deakins who have also signed professional contracts at the club.<\/p>\n
Mansfield will start their pre-season with a Scottish Training Camp on the 4th July, with friendlies lined up against Retford United (9th July) away, Matlock Town (12th July) away, Rotherham United (16th July) at home, and Oldham Athletic on the 23rd July at Boundary Park.<\/p>\n
