Nottingham Panthers last night confirmed the signing of netminder Alex Dubeau for the 2022\/23 Premier Sports Elite League season.<\/p>\n
Alex joins the Panthers from DEL side N\u00fcrnberg Ice Tigers with whom he spent the majority of the 2021\/22 campaign, signing for the German outfit in November of 2021 before being extended for the remainder of that season in February.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old has also iced in the AHL & ECHL as a professional after spending five seasons in the QMJHL (Shawinigan Cataractes & Moncton Wildcats) & four at the University of New Brunswick, who play out of the highly rated Canadian USports league.<\/p>\n
During his time in the QMJHL Alex was a key member of the Shawinigan team that lifted the Memorial Cup in 2011\/12, backstopping the team to a 28-12-5 record whilst he was between the pipes en-route to winning the championship.<\/p>\n
Whilst at the University of New Brunswick (2015 \u2018til 2019) Alex added to his trophy cabinet on three more occasions, winning the USports (AUS) Championship on two occasions (2017\/18 & 2018\/19) & the USports University Cup Championship (2016\/17).<\/p>\n
Alex joins Tanner Soreneson who signed for the club last week.<\/p>\n
Tanner joins the Panthers from ECHL side Kalamazoo Wings who he played over 300 games for across five total campaigns recording 228 points during that time.<\/p>\n
The dynamic forward has also iced in 12 AHL games and has previous experience in Europe having played in 53 games in Kazakhstan (VHL) and Switzerland (SL), adding 36 points to his resume’ in 56 games on the continent. Before turning pro he spent four seasons at Michigan State University (NCAA) from 2011 until 2015.<\/p>\n
Tanner strengthens the Panthers\u2019 depth down the middle of the line-up at the centre position and became Head Coach Gary Graham\u2019s first new non-homegrown addition to the team.<\/p>\n
