Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club have signed England International Olly Stone from Warwickshire as the fast bowler pre-agrees to move from Edgbaston to Trent Bridge at the end of this summer on a three year deal.<\/p>\n
28-year-old Norfolk born Stone has already three test caps for England, playing four one day internationals, and has 150 first class wickets regularly bowling emphatic speeds over 90mph.<\/p>\n
Having starred for Northamptonshire as a youngster alongside current Notts batsman Ben Duckett, Stone moved to Warwickshire in 2017 and made his England (one day innings) debut in 2018 against Sri Lanka, making his test debut a year later against Ireland at Lords.<\/p>\n
On signing for Nottinghamshire, Stone stated \u201cI have always had good games against Nottinghamshire, and I love playing at Trent Bridge.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a great ground, and when the option came up to make it my home, it was really exciting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe wicket teaches you to bowl well; it tests you every time you have the ball in hand, but you get the rewards if you get it in the right area. The pitch has pace and bounce, so hopefully I can make the most of that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel physically in the best shape I have been in, and the ball is coming out nicely. My pace is where it needs to be, now it is just about putting a run of games together and performances in to back it up.<\/p>\n
\u201cNotts are having a really strong season in the Championship and they will continue to be there or thereabouts in white ball cricket. It will be very exciting to be part of a group that is on the up, and I\u2019d love to win trophies at the club – that’s what you play the game for.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nottinghamshire are in County Championship Division Two action from Tuesday as they take on Sussex over four days at Trent Bridge. Notts are currently top of the table, fifteen points ahead of second placed Glamorgan having played ten games.<\/p>\n
