Mansfield Town have bolstered their squad with the addition of left back Lewis Page who joins on an initial one-month contract.<\/p>\n
The former West Ham United youngster is now 26 and was without a club after leaving Harrogate Town in the summer, he\u2019ll be utilised by the Stags potentially as a replacement for the injured Stephen McLaughlin who\u2019s slowly recovering from an ankle problem, and will most likely make his debut in the Papa Johns Trophy match against Everton on Wednesday 30th November.<\/p>\n
Page played 28 league games for Harrogate last season before an injury in March cut his campaign short, he also had spells at Charlton Athletic and Cambridge United as well as a campaign on loan at Coventry City whilst he was under Slaven Bilic\u2019s tenure at West Ham.<\/p>\n
The Enfield born star has said to have been training with Mansfield over the last couple of weeks, impressing Manager Nigel Clough enough to snap up his services, all be it initially on a short term basis.<\/p>\n
Clough saying \u201cWe\u2019ve been very impressed with what we\u2019ve seen. He has good pedigree and most importantly will give us much-needed cover and options down the left hand side.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s got a lovely sweet left foot. He\u2019s played at this level before and has also played in League One.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only reason Lewis was without a club was because he got injured last March. It\u2019s taken him six months with a foot injury but he\u2019s fully recovered now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Page is likely to be involved in the Stags squad which ironically faces his last club Harrogate Town at the weekend, but won’t be in contention to start, Mansfield are looking to pick up from their 1-0 win at Rochdale on Saturday with another away victory, Nigel Clough’s side are currently seventh in the table with Harrogate sitting 21st.<\/p>\n
