One more match stands in the way of Notts County and their Football League return as a last pre-season game is scheduled at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday before the season proper starts, away at Sutton United at Gander Green Lane on Saturday 5th August.<\/p>\n
Notts will visit the Shrews this weekend with one last time to tinker for Manager Luke Williams, it\u2019s been a summer of gradual improvement which started with a 3-0 win at Nuneaton before a 1-5 thumping at home to Stoke. The Magpies were then beaten by Nottingham Forest in front of 16,000 plus at Meadow Lane, a single goal the difference after Kyle Cameron gave the ball to Reds striker Hwang, but Notts have since bounced back from those higher opposition defeats and beaten Telford 2-0, Boston 1-0, and on Tuesday night Alfreton 5-0, thanks largely to a hat-trick by Macaulay Langstaff, one from Cedric Scott and a wonder strike by David McGoldrick.<\/p>\n
After the match at North Street, McGoldrick told Notts County iFollow \u201cGood to finally get one\u201d following his goalscoring performance, his first back at Notts following his summer move from Derby. He said \u201cI believe in my own quality that I\u2019ll get the chances, I believe in the way the team play, it exactly suits me perfectly.\u201d<\/p>\n
On enjoying life under his new Head Coach Williams, McGoldrick said \u201cI\u2019ve come here at the age of 35 and I\u2019m enjoying learning off him every day.<\/p>\n

Notts will be glad to have their three frontmen all on target ahead of schedule, Cedwyn Scott finished a neat move off against Alfreton after scoring the winner against Boston on Saturday, he has three for the summer whilst Macaulay Langstaff has five following his hat-trick up with goals against Nuneaton and Stoke, McGoldrick the last to chalk off finally getting his goal, a 25 yard screamer that hit the roof of the net.<\/p>\n
Clicking into place? Notts have one last match against League One Shrewsbury Town where Luke Williams will field a strong side, possibly resembling something near which he\u2019ll start the season with, he\u2019ll be hoping his side come unscathed and go into week one at Sutton, fully fit and ready for 46 games and perhaps another promotion push.<\/p>\n
