Sammy King and Dane Schadendorf have each signed new contracts at Trent Bridge, keeping them with Nottinghamshire until the end of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n
King made his Vitality Blast debut against Yorkshire in the final game of Notts Outlaws\u2019 campaign, and bludgeoned an eye-catching 44 from 25 deliveries.<\/p>\n
That followed an extended run of the form in the Second XI Championship, in which he scored 466 runs, at an average of 66.57, and a high score of 223 against Durham in June.<\/p>\n
The right-hander has also made four List A appearances for the Outlaws.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis season gave me a small taste of first team cricket, and I\u2019m really keen to push my case for more next year,\u201d King said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing from Notts and coming through the pathway here makes that desire to play even greater, particularly with others who have done the same.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the pitch, I feel like I\u2019ve progressed my game to score runs in all formats and hopefully showcase what I\u2019m capable of.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunity of another year here, and I\u2019m looking forward to what the next 12 months will bring.\u201d<\/p>\n
Schadendorf amassed 606 runs in the Second XI Championship, at an average of 75.75, and struck two hundreds and three fifties.<\/p>\n
He was rewarded with his full Notts First-Class debut against Kent in September, having previously collected an appearance halfway through a County Championship fixture in 2021, after Ben Duckett received a late call-up to England’s ODI squad.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m obviously happy to get the chance to carry on at Notts,\u201d Schadendorf said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wasn\u2019t really expecting to play the Kent game with the position the first team were in, but getting that opportunity was really nice and I was chuffed that it went well. It\u2019s given me a bit of a spring in my step heading into the off-season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve worked hard on my game – particularly on just relaxing behind the stumps – and I think that has brought about more consistency for me, to that point that I can be trusted in that environment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI work hard every winter, but this one may be a little different, and there might be a bit more on it having made that debut – there will be that extra bit of enthusiasm.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t want to look too far ahead, but over the course of the next year I will work as hard as I can to contribute positively. I will try my best, and that is all I can do.<\/p>\n
Head Coach, Peter Moores, added: \u201cSammy and Dane have both put in a lot of work to earn these contracts, and this represents another chance for them to kick on.<\/p>\n
\u201cSammy is a great character and has found a way to score runs in different formats. He takes a fearlessness to the field – you saw that in his T20 debut against Yorkshire – and that can be dangerous for any opposition.<\/p>\n
\u201cDane has put together several performances with the bat in the Second XI over the last few years, while he is becoming more and more reliable with the gloves.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s growing in confidence and trusting his game, and we saw the rewards of that with his first full County Championship appearance in Kent where he looked accomplished both at the crease and behind the stumps.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith places available across formats, both players will have a chance to press their case for first team cricket and if they can keep bringing a level of consistency, they will be great assets for our group.\u201d<\/p>\n
