A bit of positive news coming out of Nottingham Panthers today after a miserable week that has seen them suffer back to back league defeats for the first time since October followed by last nights throw away cup tie in which they let a two goal lead slip to crash out of the Challenge Cup at the semi-final stage to Cardiff.<\/p>\n
Today Nottingham Panthers have announced the signing of Mathieu Tousignant a player who has over 300 AHL games on his impressive CV.<\/p>\n
The Canadian has most recently been playing in Eastern Europe for DVTK but includes the likes of Dallas Stars and Milwaukee Admirals as former clubs and is a 6ft left shooting centre who’s enjoyed time in the Allsvenskan League in Sweden as well as in Germany and Slovakia.<\/p>\n
The Quebec born star will add a high level of quality to a team ready for a pick me up after recent disappointment.<\/p>\n
Panthers Director of Hockey Gui Doucet has always been in a position to bring in new talent when required stated \u201c\u201cThe funds have been there for an additional signing for a while, but I didn\u2019t want to sign just any old player. We\u2019ve already got a spare, we\u2019ve got the likes of Brett Perlini classed as British and I didn\u2019t think bringing in a \u2018plug\u2019 was the answer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the agents and contacts weren\u2019t able to offer us what we were looking for at this time I started going over old ground and checking up on the summer targets to see if any of those might be available.<\/p>\n
