A continued period of change will take Dave Turner\u2019s Teversal side into the summer, as they look to build on what will be their second highest finish in two decades.<\/p>\n

Having taken over Tevie in late 2024, Turner oversaw numerous changes on the field, his side at the time entrenched in a relegation battle in the Central Midlands Alliance League Premier South.<\/p>\n

Staving off the drop into Division One obscurity, Tevie were then seen to move to the Premier North division, and have for the most part at least, flourished.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe move to the North wasn\u2019t a problem for us as Tevie are pretty much in the middle,\u201d explained Turner ahead of his sides final three games of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve managed in both the North, and the South, and it\u2019s been a nice transformation for us, that I\u2019m enjoying.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough it did get a bit weird with the weather (over the winter).\u201d<\/p>\n

The current campaign saw Tevie begin with six wins in their opening eight games, seeing off the challenges of Glapwell (2-1), Worksop Town Reserves (1-0), Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves (3-1), AFC Bentley (3-0), AFC Phoenix (2-1), and RHP Sports & Social (5-0), with Joshua Parfitt netting seven times.<\/p>\n

A blip in October was followed by Tevie playing just three games across December-January, and they were all cup games, before the backlog has been pushed through over the past couple of months.<\/p>\n

That backlog sees Tevie heading into their final three outings, with upcoming back-to-back mid-table clashes with another local side, SJR Worksop, sitting a place and two points above Turner\u2019s charges in the Premier North.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe availability of players, and playing lots of games in such a short period of time, has done us,\u201d explained Turner.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we\u2019re looking to finish the season strongly and pick up seven points from our last three games, although SJR are a strong side.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m expecting us to be stronger on Saturday than we\u2019ll be in midweek, but we\u2019ll take a chance to look at some fringe-type players as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d have preferred being at home in midweek so, because of the kick-off times, and the cricket season starting, it gets a little annoying.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Tevie on-course for their best Central Midlands finish in over two decades, Turner is already affording himself time to look ahead to next season, and beyond, with an aim to get promoted in the next couple of years top of the agenda.<\/p>\n

It was 2004\/05 that Tevie finished third in the old Central Midlands League Supreme Division, doing so on goal-difference from Dinnington Town, and sixteen points off champions Dunkirk.<\/p>\n

(Alongside Dunkirk and Teversal, that Supreme Division also contained Gedling Miners Welfare, Clipstone Welfare, Sandiacre Town, Radcliffe Olympic, Southwell City, Radford, and Rainworth Miners Welfare, to name a few).<\/p>\n

Although eyes at Teversal are firmly set on their last three games of the season, against SJR Worksop at Tomlin Personnel Park (2 May), before the return at the Rockware Glass Sports & Social Club (5 May), before closing the campaign with another local clash, away to Ollerton Town (9 May), Turner concluded in saying that; \u201cWe\u2019ve begun looking at next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing to play for (titles, relegation, cups) so I\u2019m wanting to start pushing on from this season as soon as possible, and continue to progress this football club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teversal host SJR Worksop in the Central Midlands Alliance Premier North this coming Saturday (2 May) afternoon, KO 15:00.<\/p>\n
