A number of winners celebrating the 2020 Rushcliffe Awards were invited to the City Ground last week to showcase the hard work within the community that they have done.<\/p>\n
West Bridgford Colts were one of the parties invited pitch side to be recognised by those in attendance at Nottingham Forest v Charlton Athletic as they were photographed after winning the Pride of Rushcliffe Award \u2013 the most prestigious prize on offer at an event held in November.<\/p>\n
The club received the award in recognition of the hard work their volunteers put in to provide football to 1,300 players of all ages who turn out for 102 teams each weekend over a season.<\/p>\n
The teams Under 19 coach Nathan Cordon stated it was \u201can honour for the club to be recognised as the Pride of Rushcliffe.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said \u201cHuge credit must go to the hundreds of volunteers who have made it possible for us to win this award and be recognised. We strive to deliver a safe environment for the 1,300 players to develop and enjoy their football skills\u201d.<\/p>\n
Colts Chairman Peter Stansbury commented: \u201cIt\u2019s great to be recognised by Rushcliffe Borough Council for all the work our volunteers do. Just like Forest, we are an important part of the local community with a successful past and hopefully an even brighter future ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
West Bridgford Colts were formed in 1990 and are one of the largest youth football clubs in the country playing their home matches at Regatta Way.<\/p>\n
