Those of you who enjoyed our article written by Paul Balm titled Saturday Night\u2019s Alright<\/em> (you can read it here<\/a>) may have reminisced about the good old days when the weekend was all about the Ice Hockey but tonight, yes Wednesday, the Panthers are in action again as they travel to Glasgow to face the Clan.<\/p>\n

The Panthers are the leading team in the Elite League after the last 30 games but having played 41 matches and getting off to a \u2018rough start\u2019 the team must now play catch up with those above if they are to record a momentous achievement in \u2018coming from behind\u2019 to winning a first league title since 2013.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Steelers have played three more games than the Panthers and top the division by three points on Cardiff Devils who have four games in hand. Nottingham in third on 53 points are a point behind the second placed Devils having played a game more. The three teams plus Belfast Giants in fourth have everything to play for as they all go into their final dozen or so matches.<\/p>\n

Alaskan born Tim Wallace in his first campaign as Nottingham Head Coach stated \u201cwe were learning and had a lot of changes and systems and it took a little bit to get used to\u201d at the start of the season suggesting \u201cwe were still playing good but couldn\u2019t find a way to win losing one goal games here and there and then fast forward a month, and (ever since) we\u2019re playing really good\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallace said of the changes \u201cthe chemistry is starting to click\u201d suggesting \u201cthe guys are buying in\u201d saying \u201cthey understand how we need to play, it took a little bit of time to get the system dialled in but we\u2019re on the same page playing the right way and we\u2019ve got a really good team for sure\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tonight Nottingham take on Glasgow who are seventh in the table and fighting for playoff status currently one point above Dundee above the black line but a win for the Panthers would take them to just two points behind the Steelers who they play in a huge battle at the Arena on Saturday.<\/p>\n

With everything to play for Nottingham know they must not take their eye off Glasgow in preparation for the big local derby which could also be pivitol towards the destination of the league championship this season.<\/p>\n

Tonight\u2019s match starts at 7:30pm from the into Braehead Arena with updates available via the Panthers on Twitter.<\/p>\n
