Nottingham Rugby take on Doncaster Knights in the Quarter Finals of the RFU Championship Cup tonight as the Green and Whites hope to win their fourth game in all competitions on the bounce.<\/p>\n
After topping Pool 3 in December Neil Fowkes\u2019 side were drawn at home to Doncaster who finished third in Pool 2 in a knockout competition that is in only its second year.<\/p>\n
Doncaster are currently eighth in the RFU Championship league table just three points behind Nottingham in sixth and the two sides are evenly matched last time out separated only by a point when the Knights won 16-15 in January.<\/p>\n
Tonight\u2019s visitors enjoyed a cracking result last weekend beating Jersey Reds 38-10 and ahead of the match Fowkes said of his opponent \u201cHaving seen their game at the weekend they\u2019ve got a good scrum and carry the ball well. They\u2019re a tough side.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re not expecting anything less than their forward back coming here to show us what they\u2019re about we\u2019ve got to step up and control the football when we need to.\u201d<\/p>\n
After Nottingham beat Hartpury last weekend in their third successive league win of the year Fowkes stated \u201cThe boys spoke after the game on Friday and said \u2018You don\u2019t get the opportunity to play in these games very often\u2019. To have it at home as well is a massive plus for us. The boys are excited to get out there and they want to do well in the cup. They will be giving everything they\u2019ve got to get the win.\u201d<\/p>\n
