After double defeat in the Elite League last weekend Nottingham Panthers go into another double weekend of Ice Hockey league action starting on Saturday night at home to Cardiff Devils.<\/p>\n
Cardiff currently occupy second spot in the table five points above third placed Nottingham with a game in hand but should the Panthers earn victory at the Motorpoint Arena that gap will close to just three points with nine games remaining although many fans now feel following last weeks\u2019 disaster against Sheffield and Guildford that it might be now too little too late.<\/p>\n
The Panthers have been terrific since November following a terrible start to the season and it\u2019s a credit to Tim Wallace and his team that they are still fighting but last weekend was a real chance to push leaders Sheffield close and in the end the team crumbled as the Steelers proved too strong.<\/p>\n
This weekend is all about bouncing back and Nottingham showing that they have the character and quality to do so. Captain Sam Herr stating \u201cwe are frustrated from results last weekend. Obviously we care and we try but it didn\u2019t seem like the effort was there, the results were the results and that\u2019s because we got outworked. Obviously we let ourselves down a little bit and the fans can feel that but we\u2019ve got ten games to make a move so let\u2019s do it\u201d<\/p>\n
Forward Julian Talbot equally frustrated stated \u201cI felt last weekend we fell back a little bit but it\u2019s good to get back and play a team like Cardiff\u201d he furthered \u201cIt\u2019s that time of year when every teams getting better and it\u2019s all playoff games now were everything\u2019s tight, we\u2019ve got to win our battles and do the little things well\u201d<\/p>\n
Ahead of Cardiff and Coventry who the Panthers host on Sunday Talbot stated \u201cIt\u2019s a huge weekend for us which could make or break us and we got to make sure going into it we play a do or die game\u201d<\/p>\n
Nottingham host Cardiff on Saturday might with a 7pm face off and return to action the following day with a 4pm start at the Arena verses the Blaze.<\/p>\n
