At last, grassroots football has been given the green light to return with clubs allowed to play friendly matches from August with competition set to resume from September.<\/p>\n
Worksop Town are one of many teams in the county that can\u2019t wait to get their much-anticipated new season underway with the Tigers<\/em> taking advantage of the long summer layoff to install a brand new 4g surface at their Sandy Lane Ground, and there are changes to the squad and management too as they look to push up towards the business end of the Northern Premier League South East Division next season.<\/p>\n Craig Parry will take on the Managerial role for the 2020\/21 campaign after replacing Kyle Jordan in charge with club chairman Peter Whitehead stating he wanted a management team to take the club on to a new level. Parry has been joined by his assistant Craig Rouse with Luke Jeffs, Mark Whitehouse and John Hood all brought in to take on coaching capacities.<\/p>\n Parry and his staff join from Pontefract Collieries who finished fourth in the NPL North West Division prior to lockdown and with them they bring experience in having a side aiming towards a promotion push at step eight of the football pyramid.<\/p>\n After joining, Parry sighted his reasons for becoming a Tiger, stating \u201cThe brilliant fan base, the size of the club and the opportunity to work with the chairman were obvious appeals in our decision and we can’t wait to get started.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued \u201cWe’re proud to get the chance to manage such a big club and we are excited to be here.\u00a0 The hard work starts for us, immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n
