After a fifth straight win of the season on Saturday, Radcliffe-on-Trent Cricket Club were hit for six by the rain on Sunday as their match with Attenborough was cancelled without a ball being bowled.<\/p>\n
The Owzat Notts Premier League South Group leaders beat Attenborough by two wickets on Saturday afternoon after the home side elected to bat first at the Strand with Boro recording 157\/9 from their 40 overs. In top bowling action for Radcliffe was Jacob Deavin-Baker who took 4\/37 and in reply Rob Sutton helped himself to a half century as the table toppers stuttered to their target in losing eight wickets but with nine overs still left of the day.<\/p>\n
In second place, Cavaliers & Carrington bounced back from their first loss of the season last weekend with a four wicket win over Wollaton.<\/p>\n
Nicky Kirkwood scored 78 as Wollaton hit 191\/7 from 40 overs but a fine batting display by the Cavs (in particular Louis Kimber 59 not out) saw them pass target with eight balls and four wickets to spare.<\/p>\n
At Clifton, Plumtree put their hosts into bat with the Villagers recording 187\/9 from their forty overs with David Gamble taking three wickets. In reply Plumtree took just 34 overs for the loss of five wickets to reach target with Notts loanee Ben Compton 78 not out.<\/p>\n
The two scheduled return games, Cavs v Wollaton and Plumtree v Clifton were both abandoned on Sunday with all teams in the group scoring two points for non-fulfillment of their fixtures no thanks to the weather.<\/p>\n
In the North Group Kimberley Institute were back to winning ways on Saturday after beating Caythorpe convincingly Trentside. Kimberley who batted first registered 259\/3 from their 40 overs with Jack Nightingale top scoring with 94 and Matt Dean hitting a more than handy 74. In reply Caythorpe were bowled out for 191 with Tom Hart scoring a stunning 104 in vein as Jon Terry took 3\/26.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere Hucknall registered their first win against Mansfield Hosiery Mills as the homeside scored 184\/8 from 40 overs. In response Mansfield were 145 all out despite a 60 from Joshua Dykes.<\/p>\n
Finally two matches were played between Papplewick & Linby and Cuckney this weekend. On Saturday Cuckney beat P&L in a cracking match by 4 runs with just one over to spare as Richard Bostock took 4\/8 to cap impressive figures whilst on Sunday D&L helped P&L to a win as\u00a0Papplewick managed 123 from 27 overs whilst Cuckney hit 79 in 19.2 before the rain came in.<\/p>\n
This weekend Cuckney face Caythorpe at the Bear Pit in the North Group whilst top of the table Kimberley play bottom of the table Mansfield Hosiery Mills and a local derby see’s Hucknall make the short trip to Papplewick & Linby. In the South Section leaders Radcliffe host Wollaton whilst Clifton Village visit Attenborough and Cavaliers & Carrington travel to Plumtree.<\/p>\n
