Danish International Casper Sloth has signed for Notts County as the club announce their third new signing of the summer and one that will add more quality into the Magpies midfield.<\/p>\n
28 year old Sloth has won eight caps for Denmark including one verses England at Wembley having started out in his homeland making over 130 appearances for his home town club Aarhus before moving to Leeds United in 2014.<\/p>\n
Following two seasons in the English Championship and just 13 league appearances Sloth headed back to Denmark to Silkeborg before joining Motherwell of the Scottish Premiership in 2019.<\/p>\n
With opportunities limited in Scotland he left in January 2020 and became a free agent allowing Notts to pick up a player who is looking forward to re-discovering his best form that saw him capped at every level from under 17\u2019s internationally.<\/p>\n
On signing Sloth stated \u201cThis is perfect for me. I love when there is a clear vision and you know what you want. That\u2019s how I am as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not going to be easy \u2013 it\u2019s a difficult league to go up from but, looking at some of the games we played last season, we have a very good squad who just missed out in the final. Hopefully we can do it next year.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a central midfielder who likes to get on the ball \u2013 a technical player. I hear this team likes to play and that suits me very well. I\u2019ve got some experience, too – 28 is quite old for a footballer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been training with some other players in Denmark but I haven\u2019t been in a proper team session since I left Motherwell in February. I\u2019ve been doing a lot of running and training with a personal trainer, but it will be good to get a full pre-season and get up to full speed.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNow I need to find a place to live with my girlfriend! It\u2019s important to get a base so we can settle in completely. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing the city \u2013 I\u2019ve only been to London, Leeds and a few other cities in England but I\u2019ve heard good things about Nottingham and I can\u2019t wait to find out for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
In other good news for the club Greg Abbott has returned as Assistant Manager following the departure of Neil Cox to Scunthorpe United. Former Bradford City player and manager of Carlisle United, Abbott was no2 under Shaun Derry for Notts between 2013-15 having played part in the ‘Great Escape’ and stated \u201cIt\u2019s a wonderful club and we\u2019ve hopefully got some good times to look forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n
