{"id":5182,"date":"2020-08-21T09:01:36","date_gmt":"2020-08-21T09:01:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nottinghamsport.com\/?p=5182"},"modified":"2020-08-21T09:01:36","modified_gmt":"2020-08-21T09:01:36","slug":"griffiths-nominated-for-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nottinghamsport.com\/index.php\/2020\/08\/21\/griffiths-nominated-for-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Griffiths Nominated For Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beeston Hockey Club\u2019s young international star Gareth Griffiths has been nominated for a talented athlete award by TASS the talented athlete scholarship scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The youngster has been shortlisted in the \u2018Most Committed\u2019 category for athletes showing true dedication to sport and study after a fabulous year at Nottingham University capped off on the pitch by playing a part in England Hockey\u2019s best Junior Euro Hockey result in 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>Having also played for the GB U21 team that won the Sultan of Johar Cup verses India, Griffiths will find out today if he\u2019s been a successful winner following his nomination.<\/p>\n<p>In other Bees news the club have had a successful few days holding a World Class Players Camp at the Nottingham Hockey Centre with some fun and safe coaching for kids on offer.<\/p>\n<p>Beeston Ladies have appointed Lauren Burrell as their captain for next season with the 24 year-old now in her fourth season at the club stating \u201cI\u2019m really excited to be named as captain. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing where we can go as a squad.
