Basford United closed the gap on Northern Premier League leaders South Shields to just two points on Saturday after beating Atherton Collieries 3-1 in Lancashire with Steve Chettle\u2019s side now unbeaten in seven.<\/p>\n
The second placed NPL team hit the lead after 13 minutes when the talented Nathan Watson\u2019s shot deflected home but after tense exchanges it wasn\u2019t until 64 minutes when the away side took full control when former Forest & Ilkeston midfielder James Reid fired home.<\/p>\n

Finally Clifton lost at home to Ingles 2-1 whilst Kimberley MW took a point at Barrow Town in a match ending 1-1.<\/p>\n
