{"id":5615,"date":"2020-09-14T09:30:33","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T09:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nottinghamsport.com\/?p=5615"},"modified":"2020-09-14T09:30:33","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T09:30:33","slug":"double-delight-for-bees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nottinghamsport.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/14\/double-delight-for-bees\/","title":{"rendered":"Double Delight For Bees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beeston Hockey Club are double champions after the men\u2019s team beat Fareham 9-1 at the weekend to join the ladies first team as England Hockey Championship winners for 2020.<\/p>\n<p>It was a great day for the men on Saturday who join the women who won their final last weekend with Sam Apoola scoring four times against a side that weren\u2019t at the races.<\/p>\n<p>A 4-1 lead at half time was improved by a confident second half display that blew away their opponents in the sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>Gareth Griffiths got a hat-trick, skipper Adam Dixon and Henry Blumfield also scoring on a day of celebration at the Nottingham Hockey Centre.<\/p>\n<p>After the victory Beeston first team Manager Gareth Griffiths stated \u201cIt\u2019s remarkable that both our men\u2019s and ladies teams are leading the way when it comes to the cup. I\u2019m in no doubt that the cup has still not lost its magic and Fareham put on an exemplary display of competitiveness and good sportsmanship.
