After both men and women\u2019s teams at Beeston Hockey club started September with silverware in winning the 2019\/20 seasons delayed England Hockey Championship Finals, things haven\u2019t gone so well in the league with neither team yet to pick up a win after two rounds of matches.<\/p>\n
The men drew their opening match of the Premier Division season at Wimbledon in their first match of the season before being soundly beaten by seven times champions Surbiton at the weekend. The women are still without a point in the league after losing to Hampstead & Westminster in their first match of the season before a 3-0 defeat at East Grinstead this weekend gone.<\/p>\n
It was a Chris Proctor goal from a penalty corner that gave the Bees an opening weekend share of the spoils at Wimbledon in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Rory Patterson opened up for the home side before Adam Dixon levelled midway through the first half. Sam Apoola gave the Bees a second half lead with a field goal before Ian Slaon converted from a penalty corner. Rory Patterson made it 3-2 to the homeside with just six minutes of the match remaining before Proctor stepped up four minutes from time to square things up.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Beeston faced a Surbiton side who are no doubt the best in England. The visitors to the Nottingham Hockey Centre took the lead on six minutes before Lucas Alcalde levelled two minutes later.<\/p>\n
The champions however went in at the break 2-1 up after scoring five minutes before half time and a rampant second half saw three further goals before Adam Dixon pulled one back to reduce the deficit to a 5-2 loss.<\/p>\n
The womens team are not only yet to win but to score this season having lost 2-0 at home to Hampstead & Westminster in their opener. On Saturday the Bees lost 3-0 at East Grinstead Ladies with all the goals coming in the first half.<\/p>\n
