It was a great night for most of the counties non-league clubs in action as AFC Mansfield hit six at Goole, Worksop Town hit five against Glossop whilst Carlton Town netted four without reply against Wisbech with wins for Newark and Dunkirk too.<\/p>\n
In the Northern Premier League South East Division, Worksop Town were comfortable winners at home to Glossop North End with Craig Parry\u2019s Tigers moving to second in the league. Alfons Fosu Mensah had the audacity to give the away side an early lead at Sandy Lane but after Gavin Allott levelled on 25 there was only one way the points would head with Jack Broadhead making it 2-1 just after the half hour and Allott netting his second to give the home side a 3-1 half time lead.<\/p>\n
Further goals in the second half from Luke Hinsley and Cody Cromack wrapped things up with Worksop now on three victories from three played with games in hand on those around them.<\/p>\n
For Carlton Town, it looks like their season is finally starting to come together after back to back wins they now lie seventh in the division. The Millers easily saw off Wisbech Town at Stoke Lane with Ollie Clarke opening the scoring going into the break before a second half penalty by Aaron Opoku doubled the home sides advantage. Darryll Thomas then made it three before the hour and Samuel Whitton wrapped up a nice nights work on 75.<\/p>\n
A terrific night in the Northern Counties East League too as Mansfield hit six at Goole. Philip Buxton gave the Bulls the lead on 18 before Reagan Waud levelled but a Ross Duggan penalty on the stroke of half time was one of the strikers three goals that took the game away to a one sided affair. Ben Algar made it 3-1 to the away side on the hour before Duggan netted his second and third, in the final minute Luke Walker made it six and a good nights work for Matt Chatfield\u2019s side.<\/p>\n
In the Midland League Newark FC bounced back after Saturday\u2019s FA Cup defeat with a 2-1 win against Gresley. Craig Westcarr gave the Tangerines a 1-0 lead before the away side levelled but defender Nathan Stainfield rose highest for a trademark headed goal to give Newark all three points with the side sixth in the table four wins from four with four games in hand on top of the table Sporting Khalsa.<\/p>\n
Propping up the bottom unfortunately is Selston FC who were beaten 4-1 at Walsall Wood. Selston have lost all seven of their league games so far this season.<\/p>\n
Finally in the East Midlands Counties League Clipstone were beaten 1-0 at home by Belper United but Dunkirk beat Heanor Town 3-1 at the Ron Steel Sports Ground. Callum Robinson levelled after Joe Nice gave Heanor a half time lead before Sean Green and Lewis Wilcox wrapped things up for the Boatmen.<\/p>\n
