The success of the shortened four-day format this summer imposed by the delayed start to the campaign has resulted in the Bob Willis Trophy continuing into 2021 as the top teams in the County Championship will now play annually in a Lords Final that determines the eventual winner.<\/p>\n
This year Essex became first ever Bob Willis Trophy Final winners and next season Notts have been drawn against them in a six team group that includes Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Derbyshire & Durham.<\/p>\n
The format will be similar to that of the season gone with three groups of six teams each with the top two in each progressing to Division One where they will have a chance to reach the five day final at Lords.<\/p>\n
Ten matches will be played home and away and after the initial group stages are finalised with the top two qualifying for a super six like tournament, the third and fourth placed teams will finish their season playing four further games in a second division whilst the bottom two in each group will play in division three.<\/p>\n
