England International left-armer Harry Gurney has said he\u2019s \u2018delighted to commit\u2019 to Nottinghamshire in what will be his tenth year at the club having put pen to paper until the end of 2021.<\/p>\n
Tweeting \u201cTime flies when you\u2019re having fun\u201d the 34-year-old fast bowler has made 237 appearances for his home county taking 468 wickets across all formats and will again play a huge part in proceedings at Trent Bridge next summer.<\/p>\n
Gurney missed the recent Vitality Blast success through injury stating he watched the final at home instead \u201cI was glued to the TV as the boys got over the line at Edgbaston \u2013 for me, they were clearly the best team in the competition.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was quite inspiring to watch them go about their business \u2013 and, if anything, it made me hungrier to come back and try to win it with them next year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gurney said \u201c2020 has ended up being a bit of an enforced sabbatical for me, but I feel rested, refreshed and ready to power through the next phase of my rehab to get ready for 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joining Harry Gurney amongst the Notts bowling attackers next season is youngster Toby Pettman who has also signed for a year at Trent Bridge having graduated recently from Oxford University.<\/p>\n
The 6ft7in seamer has impressed with the MCCU and has also already played for the Notts second XI with good accuracy and bounce possessed by the 22 year old who\u2019ll continue to work alongside youngsters such as Joey Evison and Lyndon James as potential heirs to the throne of the more experienced Gurney and co.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile another Nottinghamshire legend of experience, Samit Patel, has recently passed 5,000 T20 runs whilst playing for Lahore Qalanders who have secured their place in the Pakistan Super League Final where they’ll play Karachi Kings who have a couple more familiar faces in Alex Hales and Imad Wasim playing for them.<\/p>\n
