Nottingham Forest have signed Filip Krovinovic on loan from Benfica as Zach Clough heads out of the City Ground after a dismal few years which had seen the former Bolton Wanderers playmaker shelved and shoved out of sight in the club’s bomb squad.<\/p>\n
Croatian Krovinovic played a significant role in West Bromwich Albion’s promotion season of last playing 40 matches scoring 3 goals in the Championship but this campaign has struggled with the step up to the Premier League with just three full ninety minutes under Slaven Bilic before the players Balkan compatriot was sacked with his side in the relegation zone following the draw at Manchester City in December.<\/p>\n
Sam Allardyce has since been appointed Baggies Manager and after featuring the midfielder in the shock FA Cup defeat at Blackpool, didn’t feel Krovinovic would be in his plans so after being recalled back to his parent club Benfica, the former NK Zagreb and Rio Ave star was immediately loaned out to the City Ground for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n
Manager Chris Hughton, excited by his signing said “Filip comes with good pedigree and a player we\u2019ve been tracking for a while.”<\/p>\n
“We have found it difficult to get the goals that we\u2019ve needed to win more games so this is an area we\u2019ve been looking to strengthen.”<\/p>\n
“In Filip we have a creative player who played a full season of Championship last year so knows the division. This had a strong bearing in my thinking and, from an offensive point of view, he gives us more options”<\/p>\n
The outgoing Clough has played 27 times for Forest scoring 4 goals but hasn’t featured since January 2018. He moves to Wigan Athletic after having his contract cancelled which paved way for his move.<\/p>\n
