In this Magpie Circle exclusive podcast, Fabian Spiess tells his own story of intense highs and the lowest of lows during his goalkeeping career at Notts County.<\/p>\n

Spiess made his first team debut in League One at the tender age of 18 in a 4-1 win over Colchester nine years ago.<\/p>\n

He was linked with a move to Manchester United and also had a trial with Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Spiess talks about the mental health challenges he faced while at Notts and upon his release.<\/p>\n

And he admits to having ‘suicidal thoughts’ when reporting for training.<\/p>\n

Spiess said: \u201cMy story is one of thousands that are often unheard.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not about me, but helping others understand that it\u2019s okay to struggle.<\/p>\n

Spiess made a total of 13 appearances before he was released by Ricardo Moniz in 2015.<\/p>\n
