Mansfield take on Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose on Saturday with the Silkmen having been in the headlines for the wrong reasons this week after a misconduct charge by the Football League following the late payment of their players who went on strike forcing the side to field youth and loan players during a 4-0 FA Cup loss to non league Kingstonian last weekend.<\/p>\n
The club are still in turmoil over who will play to face Mansfield this weekend which doesn\u2019t help the Stags in preparation but Assistant Manager at Field Mill Lee Glover isn\u2019t phased stating \u201cThere has been an upturn over the last six or seven weeks in our performance levels and we\u2019ve picked up some points. There is a good feel about the group.\u201d<\/p>\n
He stated \u201cIt\u2019s a terrible situation for the club and the players (at Macclesfield)\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI can imagine it\u2019s very difficult for all the staff at a football club when they\u2019re not getting paid.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere will be people working in the background of that club that aren\u2019t getting paid \u2013 it\u2019s a very difficult situation for everyone.”<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t affect what\u2019s going on at that club \u2013 we can only focus on ourselves. We\u2019ve won a couple of games on the bounce and we want to go for three.”<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing brutally honest and with all due respect, it doesn\u2019t matter what side they play because we need to get ourselves right.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Stags will be almost full strength with Danny Rose back amidst the goals midweek and captain Krystian Pearce is back in contention for selection after returning to training this week following a groin injury but Hayden White is still out longer term.<\/p>\n
