Teversal Collect Fourth Win Of Season

Teversal continued their fine start to the season this past weekend, collecting their fourth win in five in the Camper UK Premier North, and sit proudly top at this early stage.

Saturday saw them register their second clean sheet of the season, winning 3-0 away to lowly AFC Bentley with Joshua Parfitt affording the visitors an interval lead, netting minutes before the break.

A second goal was netted just before the hour mark when Lewis Macaskill finished at the near post, and the points were wrapped up for the early table-toppers inside the last ten when substitute Dylan Thornley, on for Macaskill, fired home the decisive third, and with it a valuable three points for the victors.

Worksop Town Reserves won their local clash in the North, edging their hosts, Ollerton Town, 2-1, Luke Abdy and Alex Russell for the victors, Keegan Burton replying for the hosts, whilst RHP Sports & Social fell to a 2-0 defeat when away Hatfield Town.

In the CMA Premier South, fifth place Mansfield Hosiery Mills edged a five-goal thriller when away to Bakewell Town, and Blidworth Welfare shared six when hosting Cromford & Wirksworth Town.

At Bakewell the hosts netted twice in the opening twenty-five minutes and took a 2-1, interval lead, the visitors turning the game on its head however with efforts from Kayden Wilmot-Lowe, Matt Dickinson, and Tom Suter giving them the points.

Ben Copestake grabbed himself a first half hat-trick, but that wasn’t enough as Blidworth were held to a 3-3 draw with visiting Cromford, whilst there were defeats for Linby Colliery Welfare, and Selston.

Linby went down 2-1 away to Derby Singh Brothers, Ewan Gibson affording the visitors an interval lead from the penalty spot before the wonderfully named, Marvellous Onabirekhanlen equalised on 65, and Raza Mughal grabbed the winner eight minutes later, and Selston were beaten 4-0 away to Wirksworth Ivanhoe, for whom Thomas Mellor scored twice.

In the Euro Soccer Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, Cotgrave have maximum points from their opening three matches, winning 2-0 away to Woodthorpe Park Rangers at the weekend, Ryan Smith and Scott Litchfield bagging the goals.

Arnold Town, Keyworth United, and Beeston, have all won two apiece and sit in joint-second with the former of the trio easing to a 4-0 win at Notts Olympic, Liam McCormack at the

double alongside goals from Max Elliott and Martin Bassey, and the latter side won 2-0 at home to Ruddington Village, Cameron Godfrey and Morgan Bell scoring.

Awsworth Villa won 2-0 away to Southwell City Reserves and Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves won 3-1 at home to West Bridgford Reserves, the game between Collingham and Dunkirk finished in a 2-2 draw, whilst the clash between Aslockton & Orston and Wollaton was postponed due to an unplayable pitch, deemed too dry after the recent ‘heatwave.’
