Newark Hoping To Bounce Back In Title Race

After defeat at home to Long Eaton United at the weekend Newark Flowserve will be looking to bounce back as they face Heather St Johns in a huge game at the top of the Midland Football League tonight.

Newark currently lead the table on 44 points from 22 played but only three points separate the top six and with Heather St John’s fifth in the table a win for the Coalville based side could take them level with the Highwaymen tonight.

At the other end of the division struggling Selston are adrift at the bottom having been beaten comprehensively 7-0 by Sporting Khalsa at the weekend but tonight attention draws to the League Cup with a second round tie at Bolehall Swifts.

Another Nottinghamshire side struggling in the league are Northern Counties East Premier Division outfit AFC Mansfield who lie in 18th place with 17 points from 19 games played. The Bulls play at the Forest Town Arena tonight as they host Garforth Town in the league with the away side in ninth in the division.

Finally tonight in the East Midlands Counties League West Bridgford host Heanor Town with two games in the EMCL League Cup Quarter Final, Sherwood Colliery travel to Leicestershire side Barrow Town whilst Kimberley Miners Welfare visit Belper United over the Derbyshire border.

Tomorrow night in the Notts FA Senior Cup Fourth Round Bingham Town of the NSL host Carlton Town of the Northern Premier League under the lights at Butt Field.
