Nottingham Make It Two On The Bounce

London Scottish 10-30 Nottingham (RFU Championship) 07.02.20

Nottingham Rugby made it back to back RFU Championship victories after an impressive performance away at London Scottish on Friday night.

The Green & Whites move up to seventh in the table and took the leads through Williams on 10 minutes before O’Leary converted the extras.

In a first half dominated by Nottingham O’Leary added three more on 27 minutes before the in-form Spittle went over following his five try haul against bottom of the table Yorkshire Carnegie last weekend. O’Leary converting just after the half hour to send Nottingham 17-0 up.

The home side did pull things back with a try of their own before missing the conversion with the two teams going in at the break 5-17.

In the second half an early penalty to Nottingham was despatched by O’Leary before the Canadian international kicked another three to take the away team more than three tries in front. That lead however was reduced when London Scottish went over for their second of the game but another missed conversion would hamper any chances that the homeside thought they had and when Nottingham went over again on 58 the match was all but done and dusted.

Williams with his second before O’Leary’s extras finishing things off with still a good twenty minutes plus still to play.

The win pleased Coach Neil Fowkes who stated after the game “We’re really happy with the performance from the boys. They stuck at the job well and to go away from home against a side like London Scottish and get four points is a credit to them.”

Nottingham are next up against Hartpury at the Bay on Friday night.
