Coote Appointed For Carabao Cup

Nottinghamshire Official David Coote has been selected by the Football League as fourth official for the upcoming Carabao Cup Final between Manchester City and Aston Villa next month.

In what has been a fantastic year already for Coote chosen by FIFA amongst their list of international referees this comes as even more recognition for the Newark based 37 year old.

Coote who first refereed in the Premier League in 2018 has taken charge of 23 top flight matches in England sending off just one player (so far) whilst booking 75 in total.

As fourth official he’ll be acting as go-between Dean Smith and Pep Guardiola as the two teams meet on Sunday 1st March 2020.

Coote who started refereeing at his local side Collingham FC as a youngster is one of many Notts FA affiliated officials but the only one flying the flag at the top level in doing what he does.

The Notts FA currently have spaces to attend a Basic Referee Course on 22nd February 2020 at Ellis Guildford School in Nottingham.

Course costs are £150 with a three day event starting Saturday with session one continuing on Sunday for session two and closing Monday with a safeguarding workshop, call back and exam.
