Notts Sign Long On Short Term Basis
Notts County have signed young Wigan Athletic defender Adam Long on a month loan deal as the club look to bolster their back line ahead of some crucial National League games ahead.
The 19 year old was rewarded with his first professional contract at the Latics in the summer after making his debut for the club last year in the Checkatrade Trophy as a scholar but he has failed to feature for the Championship club this term.
Long who has played a big part in Wigan’s under 23 squad is one of the key reasons why the team are going strong in the Professional Development League North as his side are unbeaten since November.
Upon his move to Meadow Lane the Isle of Man born teenager stated “The manager wanted me to come here and it’s a big achievement in myself to feel wanted, so now I’ve got a point to prove.”
“There’s big history behind the club and I’m looking forward to being here, fighting for my place and hopefully pushing on for promotion.”
“I want to play as much football as possible, try and get clean sheets and three points in every game and finish in the play-off spots.”
