Forest Sign Barcelona Midfielder

Firstly we want to confirm to you at Nottingham Sport that it is not Ivan Rakitic, not Frenkie de Jong, not even Sergio Busquets (although we doubt he’ll even get in the side due to the form of Ben Watson) but Nottingham Forest have signed young midfielder Marcus McGuane who joined la Blaugrana in January 2018 from Arsenal since playing for Barcelona B team at la Masia who are currently in the third tier of Spanish football.

London born McGuane is a still a highly rated defensive midfielder with England (and Ireland) youth international caps having made his debut for Arsenal in the Europa League in 2017 against BATE Borisov.

After signing for Barcelona he played largely for the B team returning 16 league appearances before being loaned out to Dutch side Telstar this season.

The 21 year old joins Forest on a permanent transfer deal and will likely feature in the clubs U23 side this season with a potential debut next week against Teversal in the Senior County Cup Quarter Final. From the Nou Camp to Carnarvon Street? Imagine that.

McGuane a ball winning holding midfielder is pleasing on the eye and athletic and after making his debut for Barcelona first team in the Supercopa de Catalunya became the first English player since Gary Lineker to play for the Catalan Giants.
